JUSTIFY1st in the G1 Santa Anita Derby on 4/7. Next Start the G1 Kentucky Derby on May 5thScat Daddy-Stage Magic by GhostzapperHave been high on him since his maiden breaking score. Is a monster in the making. Did have an easy lead in the Santa Anita Derby...but like all good horses do when he got tested by Bolt he kicked it into another gear and won impressivley. I know there are doubters, but I have drank the Kool Aid and I am perfectly fine with that!
MAGNUM MOON 1st in the G1 Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn on 4/14 by 4 lengths. Next start the G1 Kentucky Derby on 5/5 Malibu Moon-Dazzling Song by Unbridled's SongIs 4 for 4 including powerful wins in the G2 Rebel and G1 Arkansas Derby. Did lug out in the stretch after being on a pace that was pretty slow, so that to me is concerning and he might be regressing and nobody else really ran on in the Arkansas Derby-do not think I will be using any of those top three in the Kentucky Derby.
AUDIBLE1st in the G1 Florida Derby on 3/31 by 3 lengths. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on May 5th.Into Mischief-Blue Devil Bel by Gilded TimeLooked great coming from off the pace in the FLA Derby, but the race did fall apart after the first 1/4 mile went in 21.95. Castellano opts to ride for the Derby and you can never count "The Suit" out.
MENDELSSOHN1st in the UAE Derby by 18+ lengths. Next start the G1 Kentucky Derby May 5thScat Daddy-Leslies Lady by Tricky CreekDESTROYED the field in the UAE Derby and looks like a monster in the making and also one of the more legitimate horses to come out of the UAE Derby in recent years. Could be anything and looks scary. Ryan Moore confirmed to ride Derby Day.
GOOD MAGIC1st in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keenland by a length. Next Start the G1 Kentucky Derby on May 5thCurlin-Glinda the Good by Hard SpunLooked pretty good going second off the layoff after not looking that sharp in the comeback race. Seemed to return to form in Blue Grass with powerful run.
BOLT D'ORO2nd in the G1 Santa Anita Derby. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on May 5th.Medaglia d'Oro-Globe Trot by A.P. IndyFor some reason Castellano let Justify go on a clear lead through slow fractions and when he went to challenge him Justify responded with a clear and convincing win. With Castellano set to ride Audible in the Derby, Victor Espinoza will get the mount and we all know he is familiar with the winner's circle in Louisville.
NOBLE INDY1st in the G2 Louisiana Derby by a neck. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on May 5th.Take Charge Indy-Noble Maz by Storm BootDid all the dirty work in the LA Derby, was beat in the stretch and fought back for the game win. Did not beat the best of fields in that race and will have some time off for the big event. Fresh Pletcher, but could still regress off of that effort.
VINO ROSSO1st in the G2 Wood Memorial on 4/7 by 3 lengths. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on May 5thCurlin-Mythical Bride by Street CryI was not a fan of this one until his Wood performance as he looked dull to me. Seems to be putting it all together at the right time and survived a controversial inquiry against Enticed. John Velazquez will be retaining the mount for the Derby.
ENTICED2nd in the G2 Wood Memorial on 4/7. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on May 5th.Medaglia d'Oro-It's Tricky by MineshaftHad the perfect trip in the Wood going off the 6-5 favorite, but could not kick clear and got beat convincingly by Vino. Not sure what to do with him in the Derby, but another that has talent in this loaded class of sophomores.
SOLOMINI2nd by 4 lengths in the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn on 4/14. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on 5/5.Curlin-Surf Song by Storm CatRan ok in the Arkansas Derby, but does not seem to be getting any better. Seems like he can only run on for the minor awards. Do not view as a top contender
HOFBURG2nd in the G1 Florida Derby. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on 5/5.Tapit-Soothing by Touch GoldVery lightly raced like Justify only having three career starts, but the maiden breaking score was impressive and really improved last out facing winners for the first time. Bred to run all day for top connections Mott/Juddmonte. Think this one has a decent shot to hit the exotics at what will be a generous price come the first Saturday in May
MY BOY JACK1st in the G3 Lexington on 4/14. Next start in the G1 Kentucky Derby on 5/5.Creative Cause-Gold N Shaft by MineshaftReally really looked good winning the G3 Lexington and now my thought process has changed on him. Very happy for West Point Thoroughbreds that they have a piece and will try to duplicate Always Dreaming's performance from last year. Big closer who has a nice stride, can definitely make an impact with the expected early pace.
