RACE 10 G1 CLARK SELECTIONS (12-3-7-5): I always have a tough time not picking #3 CODE OF HONOR (3-1) because he is one of my favorites, but I think #12 BY MY STANDARDS (4-1) is the one to have in here for trainer Bret Calhoun, who has really done an excellent job campaigning this 4yo son of Goldencents. I think you can throw out the Breeder’s Cup effort last out and if you take that away you are left with a horse that has been in razor sharp form in 2020. The post is not ideal, but the good thing is the run into the first turn is long enough where he can get back to his normal running style to sit just off the pace. Is proven at the distance and should improve second off the layoff for this. Alot to like in this spot. #3 CODE OF HONOR (3-1) is supposed to be doing the best Shug McGaughey has ever seen according to the last interview about COH. That usually means that the horse is going to run well and we always expect Shug runners to get better with time. I think the last race will set him well for this, but the biggest question mark for me is can he win at this distance? He has been working very well and would not be surprised if we saw this one in the winner’s circle today. SUGGESTED PLAYS: Win bet on #12 BY MY STANDARDS and an exacta key box 12/3,5,7,9.
